The historic train and the miniature Intragna bell tower await you at Swissminiatur!

The Swissminiatur, the largest open-air museum of miniatures in Switzerland, is enriched with an important new piece: the historic 1923 train of the Vigezzina-Centovalli railway. The work has been inserted in a new large area of the Park complete with a railway line, bridge on the Isorno, bell tower of Intragna and two stations, those of Intragna and Verscio.

The new model was made using a combination of artisanal and technological techniques. In particular, the interior of the train was produced using 3D printing, which allowed accurate details to be obtained using a state-of-the-art method. At the same time, the Intragna bell tower was developed with the help of computer-aided design and was subsequently milled to a scale of 1:25 with the help of milling. The project will be followed up: a small scale model of the new Stadler trains will be presented next autumn at Swissminiatur, which will enter service at the end of 2024.

Opening of the park

The park is open every day from 16 March to 3 November, from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., with last entrance at 5.30 p.m. In addition, from 8 July to 18 August, the park will offer extended openings of one hour.
