Thank you for helping us keep the stop clean.

Promoting the cleanliness and decorum of public transportation stops will benefit the community. The Ticino Regional Autolinee Railways (FART) today launched an initiative that aims to actively involve all public transport users, inviting them to contribute small gestures that can make a big difference. The campaign will run until the end of the year.

Bus stops, which welcome departing and arriving travelers every day, represent not only landmarks for those using public transportation, but also spaces that contribute to the quality of the travel experience. Unfortunately, they are not always in the best condition. This is where the new “The Stop Reflects You” campaign comes in, which aims to raise user awareness of the importance of keeping these common areas clean and tidy.

“Simple actions such as throwing trash in the trash cans or avoiding leaving marks or dents on the infrastructure are key to ensuring that stops remain welcoming and functional,” says Claudio Blotti, FART director. ”We want these stops to be perceived as pleasant for all passengers, and with everyone’s contribution we can achieve this.”

The campaign will include information posters at stops, visible on timetable boards, and will also extend to digital channels. The message will be conveyed through an evocative image of a shredded paper with the words “STOP,” a visual reminder to reflect on the importance of small daily gestures.

FART operates an extensive transportation network that includes 4 urban bus lines, 5 regional bus lines and the Centovallina railway line, with a total of 270 stops spread over more than 140 kilometers of route.

On a daily basis, FART is committed to keeping the stops and stations of its lines clean. In addition to this, the company undertakes to communicate on the timetable boards any disruptions or special trips planned.

Since they are located on public land, FART bus stops are the responsibility of the municipality. FARTs are responsible for managing information at the bus stop (timetable boards, service notices).
Each FART bus stop has displayed a panel containing the timetable of the lines passing through that stop, the synoptic plan of those lines, and an advertising space that as needed is used to communicate disruptions or special events affecting the operation.

In recent years, the Centovallina railway stations have undergone major changes to keep up with the times. At the infrastructural level, several worksites have already been completed to adapt these stations to the Disabled Persons Act (LDis); works that allow disabled users to comfortably use the stations.
At the information level, the Centovallina railway stations have been equipped with monitors, which have replaced the windows with timetables. The new, dynamic system allows, in addition to the up-to-date display of the railway’s timetable, to show in real time any service notices, substitute runs, and traffic disruptions.
